Our mission is to act as a voice for companion animals and to enhance their welfare by providing temporary shelter, spay/neuter services, humane education programs, and adoption/placement resources.

Philosophy

DHA embraces a philosophy of humane and ethical care of all living creatures. We make every effort to ensure that the physical, medical, social, and emotional needs of our animals are met every day. We make a life-long commitment to each animal accepted into DHA’s care. We do not euthanize animals to make space to house others. DHA works to preserves life whenever possible. Everything we do to build a system to protect and care for homeless pets is to help create a more humane society.
