As we ushered in 2020, StartUpAfrica was looking into increasing our efforts to find resources to expand our mission which has impacted the lives of student and adult entrepreneurs, from the USA to Africa. StartUpAfrica has been giving back to our community for many years through the spirit of volunteerism that defines us as a people.

Then, COVID-19 arrived. And with it, everything changed.

However, that did not stop us from providing services that many student entrepreneurs have come to know about the organization. Instead, we reflected on what the pandemic meant, we re-prioritized, and with that, we chose technology as a means to continue serving.  Though we have not reached all our participants, we are grateful for what we have done thus far; others are recognizing our work, and the biggest beneficiaries, the youth, are articulating and using what they are learning.

Now more than ever, we know that entrepreneurship skills matter, especially in our community, and StartUpAfrica will continue its commitment to serving and preparing youth to identify opportunities and learn how to be job creators versus job seekers.  To continue doing more, we need your help, today especially, and throughout the year.

With our annual fundraising event in the fall canceled this year, we have a goal of raising $25,000 by the end of this year to continue our programming and bring in some much needed technology resources.
