Denton Basic Services Center (DBSC)

DBSC is an all volunteer nonprofit working with our homeless and low income neighbors. 

We run the Denton Water Project, coolers of iced bottled water placed around town, filled by volunteers. We average 2800 bottles a week and by Aug 1st have provided over 350,000 bottles since June 2021. 

Our hope is to build a resident managed tiny house village to help heal and transition people from the street to housing. 

In the meantime, we supply seasonal supplies and food to those in need.

I don’t normally share this, but I feel led to do so in this situation. A while back, my girls and I we’re experiencing homelessness. When I tell you I called all organizations in Denton and most (not all, just the main ones advertised around town or the biggest ones in town) of the churches in town and NOT ONE helped… either no funding or we had to meet other qualifications like being homeless and on the actual streets for atleast 72 hrs, etc Denton Basic Services Center did help….. There were a few times they couldn’t help with a specific need, but they found someone who could. All that to say, there no way we would have survived all that without them. It’s Bc of them we never spent not 1 night on the street! So please, on this North Texas Giving Day, please consider them at the very top of your list when making your donations. 🫶🙏🏼🤞🏼name withheld for privacy.
