At the Denver Justice Project (DJP), we are committed to dismantling systems of oppression and transforming the criminal legal system through advocacy, education, and community power. As the expansion of the police state continues to threaten our freedoms, DJP stands at the frontlines defending the rights and dignity of historically marginalized and criminalized communities.

Our work is rooted in two program areas:

Community Advocacy (People-Centered)

We provide direct, trauma-informed support to individuals and families impacted by the criminal legal system. This includes legal systems navigation, participatory defense, Know Your Rights trainings, and support for incarcerated individuals and their loved ones. We help our community move from crisis to empowerment—building safety through care, not control.

Policy Advocacy (Systems-Focused)

We fight to shift power and resources toward true accountability and community safety. Our work includes advocating for or against policy proposals, strengthening law enforcement oversight, hosting public forums and candidate events, and mobilizing community voices in conversations about justice reform.

At DJP, we believe safety comes from strong communities—not more policing or surveillance.Your support sustains grassroots resistance, protects vulnerable families, and helps us build a future rooted in justice, transparency, and collective liberation.
