The mission of DePaul School for Hearing and Speech is to teach each child who is deaf or hard of hearing to listen, speak and learn. Collaboration between teachers and families is a key component of DePaul School's Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) approach. The results of this collaboration are integrated and comprehensive educational plans that lead to more successful spoken language outcomes for our students. Toddler-Parent Program DePaul School offers a half-day toddler program two or three days per week. We provide opportunities for children with hearing loss between the ages of 18 and 36 months to participate in small-group, developmentally-appropriate instruction that focuses on listening, speech and language development in the most natural environment. Our center-based program focuses on activities, experiences and play that are interesting to a typical toddler. Certified Teachers of the Deaf and Educational Audiologists team with families to develop and implement goals and activities.
