Design Alabama Inc

In 1987, DesignAlabama was incorporated and a Board of Directors representing a wide range of design arts was created. Soon after the first Board of Directors was established, the group decided to create its first program the DesignAlabama Journal,which today is the most well known program area of the organization. Over the years, DesignAlabama has initiated a number of other programs which have become vital parts of the design community in this state. Among those programs are the Alabama Community Design Program (now run by Cheryl Morgan of Auburn University and under the title Urban Studio), DesignAlabama Online and The Mayors Design Summit.

DesignAlabama continues to promote all these programs, believing that qualtiy design in our state leads to a better quality of life and economic development.
