Desoto Animal Rescue Society

DARS is an all volunteer group of people who come together strictly because of their love and compassion for animals. Our primary purpose is to be a Voice for the Voiceless by taking in abused, abandoned and neglected animals, foster them in our homes, rehabilitate them and prepare them for their forever homes. We do not strive to just place these animals into any home, we really strive to find the best match for each animal. 

Our primary expense is the medical care required to get these animals adoption ready. Some just need updating on their vaccinations. Some need heartworm treatment, which is usually prolonged and requires multiple vet visits. And some require extensive treatment and/or surgery. We rely on occasional grants, adoption donations, fundraisers and the generosity of our supporters to provide these services. We are not affiliated with any municipalities and receive no government subsidies.
