Detroit PAL offers city-wide, year-round youth programming to low-income, under-served, Detroit-area youth. These programs place appropriately trained adults in the lives of children to serve as coaches, role models, and mentors. PAL offers a mix of traditional sports leagues and after-school activities which keep kids busy during the critical hours of 3:00-8:00 p.m. The organization specializes in organized play, operating basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, T-ball and coach pitch, golf, football, tennis, cheerleading, and track and field leagues throughout the year. In addition to athletics, Detroit PAL also provides numerous youth enrichment opportunities to our participants, such as mentoring, financial literacy, Youth Voice Council, empowerment workshops, STEM programming and our Team UP Police Mentoring Program with the Detroit Police Department. The Team Up program helps PAL continue the mission of bringing youth and police officers together and fostering positive and trusting relationships throughout the entire community.
