Deuces Live

Preserving heritage in a historic commercial corridor is a nice tag line. In reality, its very hard work! Balancing the needs of new investment against a need to preserve a cultural heritage born of segregation is challenging.  The street will never be the same as the conditions that gave rise to the environment (racial prejudice and legal segregation) is something that the country nor its citizens will allow. Capturing the heart and soul of a community that thrived, in spite of hostile external forces, is the focus of this non profits goals. 

There were so many things RIGHT with the street, Music, Food, Arts, Heritage, Commerce. The vision of the Deuces Live is , revitalizing the historic 22nd Street South corridor, while preserving its' unique heritage. It's not going to be the same, it will be the best reflection of the the past and the future.
