DRC offers many programs and services to the public, all free, as we change people's lives, whether via learning effective interview and public speaking skills in the Employment Services Program, or empowering and uplifting young adults in the Transitional Youth Program.
Since DRC's founding in 1976, the Center has continued to develop and present a broad menu of programs which meet the needs of the unserved and underserved community of people with all disabilities. DRC uses the term "consumers" to refer to the individuals who receive services from the Center. By Federal poverty standards, a majority of the Center's consumers qualify as being of low to moderate income status. From 2000 to 2022, DRC has more than doubled its facility, its staff, and the number of programs offered. Today DRC offers the following menu of programs and services, all free of charge, to many of the over 100,000 people with all disabilities living in the Center's service area:
o Assistive Technology

"The fact that Khanny Ou took the time to call me back as promised and then provided me the number to a very reliable trustworthy caregiver tells me that she takes pride in what she does and that she will only use reliable resources when she refers and provides assistance to those who are in need, and for this I will forever be grateful! Thank you."
"Gino Elliot, our Peer Support Services/Transitional Youth Program Facilitator, collaborated with students at California State University Long Beach for a very successful and well-attended series of 'Snacks and Chats' programs."
"Thank you, Samantha Mam and the Voice Options Program, for helping so many people in the community to be able to communicate."
"I wanted to thank you for an awesome visit to DRC last week! You were definitely right when you said that you had an amazing staff. I was honored to meet each one of them! Their Director, Dolores Nason, is equally amazing, and I am so glad that we got to sit and get to know each other better!"
"Your staff exhibits the best in etiquette, demeanor, and friendliness, and should be the model of how employees should act."
"I would like to extend my gratefulness for your services and a wonderful Job Developer Counselor. She has been my ally on a every day base, she has kept in constant contact with me through thick and thin and has always been a positive support system for me when I have none other. Your business has helped me gain a part time position. I love my job and enjoy the work atmosphere."
"I just want to thank all of your staff for the services you provide and the quality of treatment we receive. There are not many agencies to provide any kind of assistance, let alone with the empathy and generosity of service, so I thank you."
"I just want you to know that I appreciate everything you have done for me. It was good to find someone who can help others. I really, really appreciate what you have done for me, and everything that you bring to all those other people. You know, this is a blessing. No one appreciates it more than me. I really, really appreciate your job. It is more than special for a lot of people like us, who really need you. I was in a big depression, and then through your help, and the program's help, I am able to come out of that depression. There were no friends and nothing that could get me out of that depression....[it was] a miracle and you gave me help. You have been trying so hard with me. I really appreciate everything that you have done for me. Thank you."
