Discerning Hearts ® is a non-profit apostolate dedicated to evangelization and spiritual formation through new media. Discerning Hearts creates engaging multi-media, specializing in audio productions (known as podcasts and radio broadcasts) faithful to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and its rich authentic spiritual tradition. All audio is freely offered to listeners. Its mission responds to the Church's call to use the media for evangelization, catechesis, and spiritual renewal.

Highlights from 2020:

surpassed 35 million visitors since 2011,

averaged over 300,000 audio downloads a month

approximately 14,000-page views per day

Our “Daily Update” e-mail blast now contains over 12,000 subscribers

Our Facebook page has received over 132,000 “likes.”

As the podcast medium continues to explode across the world, Discerning Hearts continues to expand its distribution platforms! Our thousands of audio files not only appear on our Discerning Hearts website and the 2 free Discerning Hearts apps but they can also be found on:

We’ve also committed to expanding our presence on YouTube and Instagram TV (IGTV). With the help of Zoom, we hosted several “retreat/seminars” online, with various Discerning Hearts contributors, to individuals around the world. As an example, we held three extended discernment seminars with Fr. Timothy Gallagher which had a total of over 1800 participants from North and South America, Australia, Asia, Europe and Africa!

Discerning Hearts® features Fr. Timothy Gallagher, Dr. Anthony Lilles, Deacon James Keating, Archbishop George Lucas, Msgr. John Esseff and many other Catholic Spiritual leaders and teachers/catechists offer the best teachings in the rich Catholic Spiritual/Discernment tradition. From lives of the saints to the basics of Catholic Social teaching, from the Sacred Liturgy to prayer in everyday moments of our lives, More audiobooks are being produced which will supply the best teachings from the Saints, as well as more prayers and devotionals set to the highest of audio productions standard. All audio material found on discerninghearts.com is freely offered to listeners around the world.

We have led the way with online seminar/retreat conferences featuring Discerning Hearts contributors, and possibly expanding into areas of video and electronic publishing production.
