Discovery Schools

The mission of Discovery Schools is to provide a rigorous learning environment where students achieve academically, develop intellectual curiosity, and practice environmental responsibility while exploring health and science topics and careers.

Discovery Schools are public charter schools that offer meaningful and engaging learning opportunities to help all students thrive. Since 2013, Discovery has grown into a high-performing and highly sought-after charter school network that operates three schools in Louisiana: Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (KDHSA), Dr. John Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (DJOD), and Baton Rouge Discovery Health Sciences Academy (BROD). Discovery currently educates over 3,100 students and has the flexibility to adapt to the educational needs of individual students.

At Discovery, we recognize each child is unique, and understanding how a child learns is important. We offer various support services to accommodate all types of learners. Through a solid academic program, health sciences integration, and a robust athletic program, students can discover talents, explore opportunities, and achieve success.
