All Volunteer/ No Government Funding/Serving the Underserved  “ I was hungry and you gave me to eat…       a stranger and you welcomed me…”Catholic Action Center: House of Hospitality based on work of Dorothy Day’s Catholic Worker Movement. Meals,Restrooms, phone, showers, mail service,Medical Clinic, connections to VA and social services. “I was naked and you clothed me … “Gods Garments: Clothing, household goods and furniture distribution laundry services(all donated/ all free) “I was homeless and you sheltered me…” Community Inn: Night shelter in collaboration with Emmanuel Apostolic Church. Shelters men and women from 7pm-8am seven nights a week. Classes, Medical Clinics, employment clinics, legal clinics, Bible Study and other services offered nightly. St. Anne’s Home: Home for vulnerable women from the streets. Goal for the women is to get into safe, permanent housing.Divine Providence Way: Community for men who are seeking work,have been recently released from prison or are vulnerable on the streets. 20 men are part of this community; over 460 have lived at DPW since 2002.  DPW offers men the opportunity to get on their feet, find employment and become self sufficient. Homeless Veteran’s Program: Housing for homeless veterans; program in partnership with the VA since July 2011.From The Streets to a Home: 71 men and women have participated in this program that includes housing through HUD vouchers, mentoring, medical care, goal planning and implementation. 67 currently in housing in Lexington, Nicholasville and Georgetown. 60 have been “homed” for over 3 years— formerly chronically homeless men and women from the streets of Lexington.“Whatever you do for the least of my people…you do for me…”

Thanksgiving Meal for the Homeless: Thanksgiving evening w/ Central Christian

Faith & Community Christmas Store Dec.21-23  2012:17th Annual Store: 15,000+ children were provided gifts of gently used, pre-loved items by 2,613 volunteers.

ALL VOLUNTEER MINISTRY: No federal, state or local funding for these programs. All funding through private sources.  These ministries are a faith response to the needs of our brothers and sisters who fall through the cracks of funded services. Over 13,000 volunteers from 29 states served in 2012.

  • 67% of Community Inn guests are disabled; 38% are on disability
  • Average age of Community Inn guests is 43 yrs. old
  • 105 Homeless Veterans housed in 2011-2012
  • 4.2 million meals served since 2000: all donated food!
  • 212,000+ loads of clothes laundered
  • Empowerment programs for the homeless: Street Voice Council
  • Mission, youth, scout, student and church group programs
  • 185,000+nights of shelter for men, women, children from 2000-2012
