Diving for a Cause Org

Over its first 5 years, Diving For A Cause (DFAC) has successfully impacted the lives of over 20,000 children here in the United States and abroad. DFAC has delivered over $300,000 in good will donations to the communities and families that it serves.

With our nutritional program, the spear fishermen provide a significant protein rich food donation of selectively harvested fresh fish to fill freezers in orphanages, schools and food banks.

As part of our one-on-one youth mentoring, DFAC participants train, coach, and instruct young children in snorkeling and diving techniques. By opening their worlds to the ocean, these children learn about the aquatic wonders so close to their homes.

In our Literacy Program, DFAC participants deliver donated books, school supplies and refurbish the children's learning facilities by providing and fixing desks, school walls, landscape and other school materials that optimize the children's educational environment and promote literacy. At each location, the DFAC participants spend time reading and writing with each child, providing an opportunity for each one to use their new books and school supplies and ask questions.

As part of our Fitness Program, the DFAC team promotes athleticism with the supply of sports equipment to low income schools. Along with the refurbishing of their playing fields,it has been effective in encouraging more youth participation in sports

The participants each pay their own way, using their own funds for the travel, boats, housing and meals to give back to the community that they serve.

Diving For A Cause is reaching more children every year and needs more donations for the books, backpacks and community service projects that it provides.
