Do Good Mission

Why we felt compelled to start Do Good?

We’ve always considered ourselves fortunate. The truth is we’ve had relatively “easy” lives. No major complications, loving families, good jobs, etc. But we have overcome obstacles. My husband and I have been together for more than a decade now and while we’ve been very happy, we felt we were missing something. Four years ago we began our foster care journey. In December 2018, we get to call that the three beautiful girls in the picture are “ours”.    

In a crazy, sometimes scary world that we live in today, we want more than anything, to show our daughters that the most important thing in life is kindness and compassion. That’s why we started Do Good Mission.

Our Mission

Our mission is pretty simple really....to do good! Here is how we do that.

• Every quarter we chose a family from our surrounding community to help. We not only raise funds or services for them we also share their story over a few months in a way that their community can really connect with them. After 3 months we shoot a video where they get to tell everyone their story in their own words. Check out our latest story below of a young football player who's dream of playing in high school came crashing down after a tree fell on top of him.  

• One of our favorite things we do is our monthly workshops. The workshops are designed to get kids involved in community service, doing good, and spreading kindness. Some past workshops we have done are...
  • Valentine Day cards for local nursing homes
  • painting kindness rocks to hide in the community 
  • making homemade no bake dog treats for local animal shelters 
  • made care packages for the military
  • packing back to school backpacks for foster kids 

• We hold 4 big events a year for our community. 
  • The Hearts Ball (Valentine Day dance for kids)
  • The Good Run 10k/half marathon race
  • Party @ The MAC 
  • The Monster Mash (costume dance party)

• We also rent our studio out at no cost for birthday parties, girl/boy scout meetings, homeschool groups, etc. 

Do Good is run solely on volunteers. 100% of donations made goes towards local families, our community, and helping Do Good continue to spread kindness and compassion.
