Dreaming Out Loud Foundation

In July 2011 we launched Aya Community Markets, a farmers market and holistic health experience designed to help provide better access to fresh fruits and vegetables in underserved "food desserts" in Washington, DC.

Not only can community members find fresh produce, but also other services to aid in physical, financial and mental health. We have had capoeira and massage therapy demonstrations, health screenings for blood pressure, glaucoma, body mass index and more. 

In the spring of 2012 we will aquire community garden plots located in our partner communities where our youth will learn to grow the produce that they will help to bring to sale in the market. Through growing the vegetables and bringing it to market, our youth will learn the critical 21st century skills that will make them successful in the future.

With your help we can insure that we have the gardening supplies to have a productive harvest and rewarding experience for our young people.
