NEW in 2016! DVSAC community based SANE program!

DVSAC has been working with EIRMC Hospital staff to move the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program from within EIRMC to create a community based SANE program based out of DVSAC providing services to victims of sexual assault not only in Idaho Falls but also extending out into our surrounding region.  We currently have 8 trained SANE nurses serving victims of sexual assault.

 

UPDATE on the New services we added at DVSAC in 2015

Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center added a Child Advocacy Center (CAC) in February 2015!  In a warm, child-friendly environment, our CAC provides support to victims of child abuse.  We assist affected children & their families, while providing a facility for a coordinated response by medical, mental health, law enforcement, and other professionals.  At our facility, forensic interviews are conducted in a manner that is legally sound; of a neutral, fact-finding nature; and coordinated to avoid duplicative interviewing.  Specialized medical evaluations are provided by health care providers with pediatric and child abuse expertise.  Also available specialized, trauma-focused mental health services. From July 2015-March 2016 we have conducted 111 Forensic Interviews through our newly established CAC.

From July1, 2015-March 2016 DVSAC has served 998 victims of violent crime. This included:

• 49 Adult Survivors of sexual assault
• 191 Child Survivors of physical & sexual abuse
• 441 Survivors of domestic violence

 

Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center also extends a helping hand to victims and their families in the following ways:

• Individual counseling

• 24 hour crisis line

• Emergency shelter for victims and children who are in imminent danger

• Support and education groups for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault

• Victim advocacy

• Court advocacy and support services

• Community education

All of our services free and are available in both English and Spanish.

El Centro de Violencia Domestica y Abuso Sexual, le extiende la mano a las victimas y sus familias en las siguientes formas:

• Consejeria individual
• Una linea de crisis abierta la 24 hrs.
• Un techo seguro donde poder ir para las victimas de violencia domestica y sus familias que se encuentren en un peligro inminente
• Grupos de apoyo y educacion para los sobrevivientes de violencia domestica y abuso sexual
• Asistencia para las victimas
• asistencia y servicios de apoyo en la Corte
• Programa de intervencion para ofensores
• Educacion para la comunidad.

Todos estos servicios estan disponibles en ambos, Ingles y Espanol.
