Donnelly College Travel Opportunities

We have been working hard to increase opportunities for student growth through travel experiences, including:

  • A 4-day bus trip to the March for Life in Washington, D.C.
  • A 5-day Culture & Service Journey that lets students explore culture, history, and social justice issues through a Catholic lens (Memphis, TN. 2019)
  • A semester-long writing class that includes a 12-day study abroad experience in Costa Rica

Our goal is to raise $10,000 for scholarships to help more students experience these life-changing trips. With household incomes averaging below $30,000, nearly all Donnelly students need financial assistance to help cover travel expenses. All funds raised will be divided equally between the three different student trips.

About Donnelly

Donnelly College began with a bold vision: to create a Catholic college with a special focus on expanding access to higher education. In 1949, the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica and Bishop George Donnelly of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas made this vision a reality. Seventy years later, Donnelly’s mission, students and operating model continue to stand apart in higher education. At Donnelly, accessibility means more than affordable tuition. It means an open admissions policy, an urban core location, program options to meet students’ needs, and opportunities to explore faith.

Donnelly College is a unique institution, dedicated to helping ALL students realize their God-given potential:

  • Donnelly is the ONLY federally designated Hispanic-Serving and Minority-Serving college in Kansas City.
  • Three out of four Donnelly students are first-generation college students.
  • For the third year in a row, Donnelly was named the most diverse college in the Midwest in 2019 by U.S. News & World Report.
