Testimonials

I adopted my dog from DCCR in July. He came from Houston testing positive for heart worm.
I took that into consideration before officially adopting him, as treatment for heart worm in addition to being so painful for the dog, costs thousands of dollars. When I adopted him, I was informed by Douglas County Canine Rescue that they would cover all treatment until he was heart worm free. I was pleasantly surprised! Thank you to all who adopt puppies! That money helps those of us who adopt adult dogs.
DCCR sees the treatment through, so that we can help dogs live a healthier, longer, life. Thank you DCCR for all you do!! - Mickey M.

This rescue . . . What can I say. They are made up amazing selfless people who pull dogs minutes before they are supposed to be put to sleep. I foster with them and the three dogs I have had with them are more well behaved than any dog I've ever had. Kind, sweet, lovely little fur babies who just want to loved and shown affection. It's so hard not to keep every single dog I foster because, I think they know you are rescuing them. They love you even more. As long as I remain in this state, I will always stay committed to this recuse because I have scene the wonderful dogs they rescue and scene first hand how much the dogs love you for it. They people that run this amazing rescue, amazing beautiful souls! And the pups of all ages and breeds could not come cuter! - Jewel A.

DCCR is not just a RESCUE. DCCR is an organization that works 24-7 to save dogs lives. They have a huge network of people that they work with and an amazing volunteer crew. They do not rest. I foster and volunteer with the organization and can't imagine doing anything else! I have fostered over 80 animals in the past two and a half years and am committed to saving as many as I can because of the amazing people who are a part of this organization. I have "foster failed" as well and anytime I have questions I know I can reach out! Thank you for choosing to do this difficult but life-changing work for both humans and canines! -Rachelle M
