Community support is an expression of caring which is key to helping survivors rebuild a sense of trust and hope. Individual donors make it possible for Dove House to offer the services and resources that really make a difference.
When a family decides to leave a violent homelife, they may leave everything behind to seek emergency shelter. Donations help that family with everything from clothing and personal hygiene products to transportation assistance to the many appointments they suddenly find they need in order to move forward with their lives. To heal from the trauma of living in an abusive situation, family members may need special therapies which are made possible by community generosity. In order to truly rebuild their lives in a meaningful way, there are many pieces to put together.
Located on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, Dove House is the only licensed domestic violence and sexual assault services agency in Jefferson County. We provide victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and general crime with free, confidential crisis intervention, emergency food/shelter, counseling-based advocacy, transitional housing, and support groups. We also provide prevention education in area schools, and engage the wider community in education and outreach.
