ESF Dream Camp was founded in 1998 with a mission to transform the lives of under served youth through innovative year-long programs that Nurture the Individual, Educate the Mind and Inspire the Spirit.
We strive to break the cycle of generational poverty in under served communities by teaching children to create successful pathways for themselves. Dream Camp empowers them to become leaders, responsible citizens, and future contributors to the city.
ESF Dream Camp Foundation provides all-encompassing yearlong academic mentoring, tutoring and enrichment services to low-income Philadelphia youth ages 5-18. Dream Camp strives to engage students in a wide array of activities that focus on the student as a multidimensional individual. Dream Camp encompasses the After-School Academy, wherein students are working, in small ratios, with adult mentors on school projects and enrichment education. When the school year finishes, Dream Camp continues the established relationships with a 5-week summer day camp. At camp, students are introduced to a deeper exploration of the lessons learned in the After-School Academy. The program aims to provide continuous touch-points throughout the year and throughout the students' lifetimes so to emphasize commitment and relationship building. Our goal is to establish life-long relationships that in turn, offer continuous, holistic growth to the individual.
We rely solely on the generous donations of businesses, foundations and individuals.
Like our program, our children are unique. Their backgrounds are diverse and their interests are varied. Many come from single parent homes and most are familiar with financial hardship. They come from cities with tough schools and tougher streets. Despite these obstacles, our children have hopes, dreams and aspirations and we provide them with tools that turn their dreams into reality.
Donations to Dream Camp will support the cost of sending a child to program which includes but is not limited to: camp supplies, curriculum and events, transportation, meals, field trips, facilities, etc.
