THE DRED SCOTT HERITAGE FOUNDATION

Our commission and installation of the Dred and Harriet Scott memorial statue in St. Louis impacts people far and near with the humanity of these civil rights icons as a prominent feature at the Old Courthouse. We initiated a Dred Scott Stamp Petition Drive that recognizes and celebrates that history. Our educational contributions and collaborations include a Dred Scott bus tours, Dred Scott stage productions, publications on the family history including an activity coloring book, a new literacy program, national and international speaking engagements and much more. 100s of events in 15 years address reconciliation- programs with historians, lawyers, the Judicial College, signature descendants panels, universities, museums, genealogy conferences, Dred Scott Reconciliations Forums and Dred Scott Reconciliation Conferences. We are featured in documentaries on the U.S. Constitution, programs on PBS, C-Span and Netflix. By invitation, we highlighted the kickoff for Virginians for Reconciliation in 2019 and have inspired thousands around the country to learn about the DSHF and our hope for future generations and for a more perfect union.
