Our mission of the Schick-Ostolasa Farmstead to serve as an agricultural history learning center for the Dry Ceek Valley; to convey to the public the importance of Idaho's agricultural history through exhibits, school programs, living history events, site tours and educational speakers; and to preserve and protect the material culture of the Farmstead's past.

The Farmstead was selected as a County Historic Treasure by the Ada County Historic Preservation Council in 2006. In 2007, we received an Orchid Award from Preservation Idaho for our historic preservation work at the Farmstead. In 2009, we were the first Idaho recipients of the Alfred E. Corey Award from the American Association for State and Local History. Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter declared September 17, 2009 as Schick-Ostolasa Farmstead Day in Idaho.

Currently, we need to make some renovations to some of the Farmstead structures to restore them to their historical state. Specifically, the wood shed and the granary are the structures that need the most work done. Some of the repairs include raising and straightening the buildings with structural bracing, add more rafters to hold the roofs ups, add cement foundations and restain the structures. With your donation, we will be able to make these significant renovations!
