Du Pont Manual High School Alumni Association Inc

The duPont Manual High School Alumni Association, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting alumni with the school to promote excellence, diversity, and inclusion at Manual High School. The association is committed to funding scholarships or projects that positively impact the lives of current students and alumni and preserving the history of the school, originally established in 1892.   Reformed in 1994 as a nonprofit separate from JCPS and Manual High School, the association is one of the most active public school alumni associations in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It operates through donations from a network of alumni, former faculty, parents and businesses connected to Manual High School, all of whom value the school's rich history of diversity and academic excellence.

Currently, the association is focused on facilitating needed renovations at Manual Stadium, recently designated a historic building in Louisville and celebrating its 100th anniversary. Additionally, the association is building on its robust annual scholarship offerings for the upcoming graduating class.

A few items which highlight our efforts:

Supporting the Next Generation of Alumni

Scholarships: Over the past 30 years, the association has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships. In 2024 alone, over $40,000 was awarded to graduates.

Endowed Funds: The association manages a portfolio of endowed scholarship and academic improvement funds. These funds, donated by alumni and individuals seeking to promote academic excellence, are managed and administered by the association to ensure long-term impact.

Supporting the School, Students, and Faculty

In 2023, through the Academic Endowment Fund, General Fund, and generous alumni donors, the association was able to fund two development programs for Manual staff and administrators.  Fund improvements to the school's courtyard. Support a school-wide multicultural event for students.  Facilitate fundraising for select school events.  As well as other investments in programs to support students and faculty.  

Connecting Alumni

Newsletter: The association produces a quarterly newsletter providing updates on alumni, reunions, the school progress, athletic achievements and profiles of alumni.  We help connect those those planning reunions to announce and promote their events as well as provide a venue for them to give to scholarships.  The association hosts luncheons and events that give alumni a chance to reconnect, learn and make new friends.  The organization manages the duPont Manual Hall of Fame inductions and annual induction luncheon.
