Environmental Health Watch (EHW) is Cleveland’s leading non-profit organization focused on environment, health and community. For over 40 years, our work has created community-driven solutions that engage local residents and respond to pressing health and environmental concerns. 

Our vision is to have the city of Cleveland be a place where all children, families, and individuals live in healthy homes and sustainable communities. 

We believe that leading change efforts must be local, sustainable, and equitable. Our program and policy work is rooted in working with diverse networks of civic and grassroots stakeholders to deliver our mission of creating healthy, regenerative communities by justly enriching environments and respecting the value of people and place.

HEALTHY HOMES

We believe that everyone should have a right to a healthy home. Our framework and principles were adopted by HUD and the National Center for Healthy Housing, and we continue to provide home assessments, Lead Safe Resource Center for residents and training for property owners and local contractors who are committed to making homes safer and affordable. 

HEALTHY PEOPLE

We believe that everyone must have access to knowledge and the ability to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Our policy and community convening initiatives focus on increasing access to food and basic services in Central Kinsman and Buckeye.

 HEALTHY COMMUNITIES

We believe that every community must have an ecosystem that reflects the values of its people and places in mind. Healthy sustainable communities are diverse yet cohesive, bonded yet welcoming, and effective in developing inclusive solutions.
