Educating children in math and science is vital to our future, and this represents the key focus of the Earth Science Museum. Currently, the museum is providing through its outreach program much needed teacher resource kits on rocks, minerals, and fossils along with hands-on classroom instruction.  29 schools, 109 classrooms, and 2460 students have been served since the launch of this free program.  Outreach activities are being enhanced and expanded as part of the museum's Phase 1 development.

Phase 2 involves transitioning to an initial facility. Plans are under way for a 20,000 square feet building that will feature geology exhibits; an interactive display of the periodic table of the elements; and the Flagg Mineral Collection, one of the finest collections of Arizona minerals. In addition, an Earth Science Education Experience lab will offer students unique opportunities to learn about the scientific process and make discoveries about minerals and geologic processes.
