Our programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities are making a difference every day! We serve children age birth - three in our Early Intervention Program, providing therapeutic services and educational programs at no cost to the child's family. These early services impact the child's lifelong learning and success. When therapy can begin at this stage in a child's life, more progress is made! In 2011, ECAUCP served over 200 children in our five county region of east central Alabama. Our adult program provides a variety of activities and learning opportunities for its members. Currently, twelve adults are a part of this program. In conjunction with UCP of Greater Birmingham, we are now a licensed site for Gone For Good, a shredding business that gives our adults the opportunity to come to work several days a week and draw a paycheck, an experience they've never had! In addition to working in the shredding business, each class member has individualized goals they work on in t he classroom, with plenty of time for socializing and community involvement. One of their favorite activities is the bi-annual craft show they hold at the Quintard Mall in the spring and fall. Other ECAUCP programs include our Inclusive Child Care Program, a child care center for children with disabilities as well as typically developing children, a Respite Program, and CCEP, a preschool teacher training program.
