East Maricopa Resource Management Education Center Inc

      The East Maricopa Resource
Management Education Center
(EMRMEC) was founded in 2002 as the
nonprofit affiliate of the East Maricopa
Natural Resource Conservation District
(EMNRCD). For 8 years the EMRMEC
provided in-class conservation education
that meets Arizona Standards, serving
hundreds of students and teachers in
the District.
        In 2011 the EMRMEC changed its name
to Desert Willow Environmental
Education Center in order to more
clearly distinguish itself from the District.
It is also refocused its efforts in order to
better serve the entire District (which
consists of 13 cities). This means more
focus on out-of-class hands-on youth
education at the Desert Willow Garden
and empowering educators and
community members with knowledge
and resources so that they can in turn
educate more youth and community
members.
