Artists and patrons who realized the importance of art to a full and meaningful community life founded the Eastern Shore Art Center over 50 years ago. Our mission is to promote, teach and nourish the creation, development and appreciation of the visual arts through exhibitions, educational programs and outreach programs.

Each year, our off-site exhibits impact over 300,000 people. The Art Center welcomes over 25,000 visitors free-of-charge, offers over 120 classes for artists of all ages and abilities and hosts over 30 exhibitions annually.

The outreach program brings art to senior living facilities, the Southwest Regional School for the Deaf and Blind, after-school programs for at-risk youth, summer art camp and art instruction for those with disabilities and chronic illnesses.

The importance of expressive art therapy is witnessed every day. It can serve individuals who are otherwise unable to express their feelings. Art promotes self-awareness, emotional well-being and healing.

Every day, we see "Art Changing Lives"--Won't you help us to continue the mission?
