The caring of loved ones with a sudden or progressive illness, with a disability or special need, or in the process of rehabilitation can be overwhelming and life-altering. The responsibility of their care often leaves families unsure of what to do.

Serving the Gainesville area since 1998, Easter Seals Altrusa House has put hope within reach for thousands of adults. Our program provides support for family caregivers and help people live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

Altrusa House is an Adult Day Health Care Center that provides an affordable alternative to nursing home, group home or in-home care for adults. We serve adults 18 and up who may have a physical or developmental disability, cognitive disorder (such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia), and those recovering from a stroke or other special needs.

While individuals are attending Altrusa House, caregivers and family members are able to return to work, run errands, make appointments, or take a much needed break with the peace of mind that their loved one will receive quality care in a safe, stimulating environment.

The funds from your gift will help us to:

- Fund operating expenses
- Fund supplies for our adult day health care services and caregiver support group
- Provide food for the clients we serve
- Provide more activities for our clients with Alzheimer’s and dementia
- Provide scholarship assistance for families in need

More than 94 cents of every dollar spent goes directly back to our programs and services.
