The Monarch’s primary emphasis is to enhance the quality of hospice care to terminally ill people in our community. Every day we receive requests from families whose loved one’s have exhausted their resources and require charity care. People like “Adam”.

“I wish you could've watched “Adam” walk into the Monarch and collapse into the bed. His facial deformity is severe, he's so weak and can barely whisper to talk. He had one tear from his tiny opening of his eye when he said ‘Thank you.’ I told him I would definitely tell you THANK YOU. He has been in a hole of an apartment in Beatrice, vomiting almost all day every day, maybe weighs 100lb and sleeping with his door unlocked so someone could get in to help him if he needed it or if to find him. It is pathetic. His mom had instant relief when she saw him cuddled up in bed. He was comfortable and safe. THANK YOU sounds so simple but what you said yes to is profound.” 

The Monarch has served more than 1,000 people ranging in age from 1 month to over 100 years and provided more than $1 million in charity care. Thanks to the generosity of our donors,  last year we provided over 600 days of benevolent care to individuals in need and can say YES to people like “Adam” who deserve to die with dignity.
