Emmanuel Baptist Church

The New Hope Pregnancy Center in Gbarnga, Liberia, is a non-profit community ministry whose objective is to offer education and Christian counsel to young women, men and their families facing an unwanted pregnancy. The ministry opened its doors for free services to the public in 2008.

For most of the years between 1989 and 2003, Liberia has experienced devastating civil war that left a generation of young people separated from their families and devoid of loving care and family relationships. In the current environment of disrupted and destroyed infrastructure, distrust and confusion, the New Hope Pregnancy Center is striving to give hope and help to this generation of young adults.

NHPC’s old location was a rented location isolated from the street by a dirt path, an old house that was infested with termites and costly to repair and maintain. Rats regularly entered the premises and ruined supplies. The new location is situated on prime land within a couple of blocks of two major schools and is very visible. The building has begun, but funds are desperately needed to complete the project.
