Educational Center for Independence Inc

For over 40 years, ECI has been providing services and supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Washington County to help them achieve greater independence in their lives. Each of the services provided is individually tailored to meet the needs of each man or woman served. We offer training at our day habilitation facility, where classes concentrate on skills involved in activities of daily living, language, social skills, hygiene, self-help skills, and independent living skills. We also offer supports in the homes of the individuals we serve and offer 24-hour care at our residential faciltiies. ECI also provides opportunities for each of the individuals we serve to participate in Special Olympics events at the local, regional, state, national, and international levels.

ECI's programs are offered under the supervision of the Alabama Department of Mental Health. We are a United Way partner agency.
