ECO International

ECO International is currently working in Bugiri, Uganda, a community of 30,000 people struggling to hold on to the most basic elements of life.  We are nearing completion of a $38,000 project funded by Rotary International to rebuild the Bugiri District Hospital water system.  In 2014-2015 we will be spearheading a second $35,000 Rotary International project at the same hospital, this time focusing on WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene).  We are working with local government officials to establish a municipal water company, publicly owned and controlled, and sustained by local taxes and revenue. We hired Edwin Osibo to make plumbing and electrical repairs around the hospital, to implement the Rotary International projects, and to otherwise work with with local officials to repair and maintain community water systems.   Except for Edwin we are an entirely volunteer organization.  We minimize our administrative costs to ensure that more than 95% of our funds are dedicated to sponsoring our Ugandan projects.
