Ecology in Classrooms and Outdoors Northwest

The average 9 year old spends 6 hours each day in front of screen, and just 10 minutes outside in unstructured play. Childhood has moved indoors in the last few decades, and this is a problem for all of us. Kids need nature! When people spend time outdoors, studies tell us that they are less likely to be affected by obesity, ADHD and depression. It's healthy to get outside! We also know that if our children are going to tackle the important environmental issues of the present and future, they will need a strong connection to nature. Our programs get kids outdoors where they learn about the nature of their place - the Pacific Northwest.
