Edgewood Center for Children and Families serves thousands of children, youth, and families that have experienced traumatic stress leading to learning disabilities, mental illness, and debilitating behavioral issues. With treatment and prevention programs, many children and families can overcome these challenges and transform their lives.

At Edgewood, youth often succeed for the first time because our holistic approach allows us to identify and build upon the unique strengths of each client we serve. We take a family-centered and integrated approach to our work and focus on issues such as mental health, family relationships and life skills.
We recognize that kids do better when action is taken before behavior issues escalate, so our preventive and early intervention programs reach youth where they are - in schools, neighborhoods, and communities.
We are proud of transforming the lives of 7,000 children and families every year in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties.
Founded in 1851, Edgewood is the oldest children's charity in the western United States. Since then, we have evolved to offer more than 25 programs in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties ranging from prevention and early intervention to community based treatment, intensive programs, and residential care.
Unique services include the only level 14 residential facility in northern California - the highest level of residential care available before a locked psychiatric unit.

Edgewood San Bruno Drop-in Center
The San Bruno Drop-in Center is a voluntary, peer-driven program that provides interpersonal, educational, vocational, wellness, and recreational opportunities for San Mateo County young adults between the ages of 18-25 to expand the skills necessary for a successful transition into adulthood.
San Mateo Child and Family Treatment Collaborative
The Edgewood San Mateo Child and Family Treatment Collaborative helps children, youth and their families overcome the effects of trauma and neglect.
Edgewood Kinship Program in San Mateo
Edgewood Kinship San Mateo has served relative caregivers in San Mateo County for over ten years. Our services are designed to support and strengthen families, focusing on the needs of every family member so everyone together can succeed.
