ElderPet is a service organization made up of Pet Partners Therapy Teams and community volunteers. The focus of ElderPet is to facilitate the important human/pet relationships of senior citizens, people with disabilities, hospice families, and clients of health care and other facilities.  This is done via two branches – the Pet Partners Therapy Animal Program and Pet-Related Community Services. Our community service area encompasses Strafford and seacoast Rockingham counties. Your donations through NH Gives will be used to support our community service branch. Services we provide are:

  • Delivery of pet food to low income seniors and people with disabilities with pets.

  • Providing the cost of medications and prescription diets for low income pet owners whose animals have chronic medical conditions.

  • Providing financial support for veterinary care on a case by case basis upon receiving a request that cannot be covered by other sources.

  • Providing rides to pet related appointments.

  • Advise and counseling to caregivers, social workers, and owners related to pet care in unexpected situations.

In addition, as a Community Partner of Pet Partners, ElderPet organizes and hosts classes and evaluations to register therapy animal teams. These teams then go out and serve by visiting hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools, libraries, universities, and many more locations throughout the area. Funding is not needed for this endeavor, but it is an integral part of what ElderPet does in the community.
