Elementary Institute of Science (EIS) was selected by District 79 Assembly member Dr. Akilah Weber as the Nonprofit of the Year for 2023! The mission of EIS is to inspire a love of science and create opportunities for diverse children and youth. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

EIS provides after school and Saturday science enrichment that motivates students and ignites interest in STEM. High quality is guaranteed through a low student to instructor ratio and fun, hands-on learning experiences taught by enthusiastic instructors. Fall sessions run ten weeks, during the school year. Students explore four different STEM content areas throughout the 10-week session. We proudly offer scholarship opportunities for potential students and your gift of any amount will help deserving students attend camp sessions!

EIS was founded in 1964. We are an educational equity and social justice organization with science as our engine. EIS is committed to providing rich learning opportunities that prepare children for bright futures. EIS collaborates with schools, parents, businesses, and community partners to engage students in authentic, hands-on science learning. Our out-of-school and school partnership programs broaden access to STEM education, foster critical thinking, and encourage students to pursue STEM careers.
