Elliott County Christian Community Center Inc

Elliott County is one of the distressed counties in the foothills of Eastern Kentucky, where unemployment is very high and a majority of the population live in poverty. Through revenue from our Thrift Store, donations from individuals, and churches in our community, and small grants through EFSP, we are able to purchase food for the needest of needy people in our County. 

The Elliott County Christian Community Center, Inc. is the only food pantry in our distressed county, and we hand out food boxes on a daily basis.  Therefore, monetary donations are essential for the Center to survive and continue to provide support to our families in Elliott County, Kentucky. We offer a Christmas food basket for the elderly, families, and veterans, which is provided totally by donations.

The Center accepts anything that can be sold in our Thrift Store, whether it be clothing, a lawnmower or canning jars to provide revenue.

The Center collobrates with the Salvation Army in times of disaster to provide food and clothing to families.

The Center is in need of two propane heaters for when the electric is out.

A youth group from St Denis Church in Ohio comes to our county for a couple of days each summer and assist the elderly with new steps, handicap ramps, or painting, for four or five families in the allotted time.

The Center is staffed with one full-time and one-half time employee and two volunteers.   The Center is fortunate, at the present time, to have two students from KY Ready to Work program.
