Gateway Youth Outreach Inc

Gateway Youth Outreach, Inc. (GYO) is a non-profit, voluntary, community-based organization receiving both public and private funding.  The Agency provides free and accessible services to youth in the Sewanhaka School District.

GYO is dedicated to offering services to youth at risk that are not responding to, or being reached or engaged in traditional services.  The primary focus is youth 7-19 years, with an outer limit of 0-21 years.

Our objectives are to:

1. Enhance their emotional health.
2. Enhance youth development.
3. Prevent delinquency.
4. Modify existing delinquent behavior.

These objectives will be performed in an atmosphere which promotes, wherever possible constructive interaction among varied races, religions, and the cultures of our community.

Fully cognizant of the importance of family functioning in youth enhancement, GYO offers services to youth individually and within their family setting.  Towards this end, GYO utilizes both non-traditional methods (outreach and worker flexibility) and traditional methods (referral, advocacy, and education).
