How funds from Erie Gives 2025 will be utilized:

In April 2025, EmergyCare discovered major structural damage in the Wash Bay of our headquarters—a critical space used to clean and maintain our ambulance fleet. Emergency repairs began immediately, but further inspection revealed widespread deterioration in adjoining vehicle bays that house essential transport and response units.

Your Erie Gives donation will help fund the urgent, multi-phase restoration of this vital facility—ensuring our vehicles, equipment, and staff remain safe, ready, and able to serve communities across northwestern Pennsylvania.

Organization's Background: 

EmergyCare is one of Pennsylvania’s largest nonprofit EMS providers, delivering emergency and non-emergency medical transportation across 2,100 square miles in northwestern PA. Our team of over 200 professionals responds to more than 81,000 calls annually—providing Basic, Advanced, and Critical Care Life Support, wheelchair and medical taxi transport, and specialized services like SWAT paramedics and EMS education.

EmergyCare funds its operational needs (lifesaving equipment, vehicles, and medical supplies) through fees for services. Obtaining and maintaining critical vehicles/equipment to service the community is essential. The organization prioritizes equipment needs based on age and necessary technology upgrades. EmergyCare invests over a million annually in upgrading and replacing capital equipment. Despite such a significant investment, needed equipment
is delayed due to budgetary limitations.

As an independent nonprofit organization, the annual membership campaign and community donations, special event
fundraising, and grants are relied upon to fill the gap.
