Empact Northwest is the nonprofit organization with global reach and local impact, dedicated to training Washington State firefighters in rope and structural collapse rescue while building emergency response capacity around the world.

We're the ONLY provider of structural collapse rescue training outside of King County and the ONLY nonprofit provider of affordable rope rescue training anywhere in Washington state.

Empact Northwest provides disaster preparedness, emergency services improvement, and disaster response through three distinct but interrelated fields:

TRAINING

We provide affordable, regionally relevant rescue training to communities vulnerable to disaster, including right here in Kitsap County. Our high skill courses include:

PREPAREDNESS

We help communities around the world prepare for disasters through emergency systems development. Our current programs include:

• Dispatch implementation in Belize: Creating a nationwide 990 emergency number and training professional dispatchers (95% women)
• ICS training in Trinidad & Tobago: Building disaster management capacity for local emergency agencies
• Rescue training in Ukraine: Providing critical skills to responders operating in conflict zones

RESPONSE

Our response wing is a non-governmental team that provides specialized rescue, medical, and logistics services after disasters worldwide. We are the ONLY non-governmental Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) Team in the United States, capable of deploying within 24-48 hours of a major disaster.
