+BOX is on a mission to bring balance to social and structural inequity with a core focus on empowering communities to reclaim their food sovereignty, by opening pathways to healthy, localized, sustainable foods.

Why #AddToTheWorld?

Food insecurity impacts 1 in 4 people in San Diego, including 30% of children. That means that almost 1 million of our neighbors don’t have enough food to meet their basic nutritional needs and are unable to provide three healthy meals per day for themselves or their families.

Individuals who experience food insecurity are much more likely to suffer from poor health and chronic illness, including diabetes. Food insecure children are more likely to experience lower academic outcomes, delayed development, and limited opportunities for a healthy and dignified life.

Thats why we created +BOX. To promote dignity, improve health, and create opportunity for children and families by connecting them to locally grown, fresh, healthy food.

Back to School: The 2023-2024 School Year

The +BOX 2023-24 school year program will provide healthy food support for students and families in more than a dozen school communities in Bonsall, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, Vista, and Solana Beach.

The program will deliver healthy food every week over 40 weeks during the 2023-24 school year, supporting more than 650 families per week.

Healthy Food For A Month ($52)
Provides a food insecure family with reliable access to fresh healthy food for a month.

Healthy Food For A Semester ($260)
Provides a food insecure family with reliable access to fresh healthy food for half the school year.

Healthy Food For the School Year ($525)
Ensures a food insecure family has reliable access to fresh healthy food for the entire school year.
