Erie Animal Network

On October 17, 2011 our founder got a call about a kitten who was dumped in the woods by her parent's house. Imagine being that poor kitten outside starving, cold, alone and ill with a severe infection of her paw which had traveled through her tiny body. Despite her best efforts and an emergency trip to the vet, she couldn't be saved. She felt frustrated, angry and alone. All the way home she hatched this amazing idea to gather like-minded citizens in a place to take action, educate and grow the seed of compassion. You can't change the world, but you can change your city -- one compassionate act at a time. That night she founded Erie Animal Network. Slowly it grew into a place for people to take action, network with each other, and find solutions for the homeless and abandoned animals in Erie County with advocacy and outreach programs. The beautiful kitten passed away from being the victim of cruel abandonment, but she did not die in vain. She is the reason we fight for those like her, and every save is in memory of her - and now many more, too!

Erie Animal Network is a social networking project to help companion animals by connecting the found, stray and unwanted dogs and cats with new loving homes or those who can help, donate or foster.

We humbly ask for your support during this amazing annual event! Donations through the Erie Gives Day program are granted an additional pro-rated match, making your donations (and our ability to help) go further!

In the past year (our 13th year!), our 100% volunteer-run animal welfare organization has been there for the animals (and the people) in our community who needed us most.

From our active 24/7/365 no-cost Lost and Found Pet Alerts services (nearly ##,000 posts were made to help pets reunite with their families); to our Pet Food Bank; to our special programs including our Safe Net Safe Pet Program (providing urgent, confidential foster care for pets of victims leaving situations of domestic violence); to Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return of community cats as a part of the collaboration of FixErie; our Winter Shelter and Straw annual giveaways; to our feet on the street rescue work helping the helpless, homeless animals in need on the streets of Erie County PA; we have had a tremendous year of helping local animals in need. We can't do it without your amazing support! This year, we make a leap of faith and purchased the building our adoption center is in to ensure we have a permanent home for our events like Coloring with Cats, or Crafts with Cats; as well as ensuring the long-term future of our organization in the community. We are fundraising very hard to ensure the purchase is paid for as quickly as possible so we can focus completely on assisting the community with our feet-on-on-the-street rescue and community assistance.

Our volunteer-run team is grateful and proud of the community support and teamwork we share with you, in our unique community-driven, fellow citizen-supported organization.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of it!
