Essential tremor (ET) is a neurological disorder that affects an estimated 10 million Americans and countless millions more overseas. ET causes a rhythmic trembling of the hands, head, legs and/or voice and can occur in people of any age, gender or race.

ET frequently affects every day tasks such as eating, drinking and writing. While tremor severity may vary from person to person, it often makes those in affected self-conscious or anxious in social situations.

The IETF empowers individuals to regain control of their lives, by providing educational information, treatment options and coping skills. We actively advocate for greater ET awareness at every level-from health care providers to government officials. The IETF also funds research into the cause and eventually a cure for this life-altering condition. The IETF also sponsors support groups across the globe, offering those affected a safe place to find fellowship and inspiration.

Get involved! Because an IETF member. Talk to others about ET. Volunteer as a support group leader in your community or donate funding to support our mission.

A single voice is seldom heard, but a thousand voices can shake the world!
