About The Foundation

The Ethan Jostad Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization solely supported by individual donations and corporate sponsorship. Our mission is to provide emotional, psychological, and economic support to children fighting cancer as well as their families. We also raise awareness, advocate on behalf of, and fundraise for childhood cancer research. Our goal is to bring smiles to the faces of children and relief to their families during their darkest times during their battle with cancer. We accomplish this goal by providing toy packages to children in treatment nationwide, providing financial assistance and programs to local childhood cancer families in the state of Oregon, raising awareness of childhood cancer, and funding ground breaking research.

Our toy packages are made possible because of our on-going toy drive and fundraising efforts. We ask that everyone who would like to assist with that much needed smile to donate a new toy locally to the Pediatrics floor of Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, OR or by donating to our foundation so that we can purchase toys for children. Our toy packages are sent to children who are undergoing treatment for childhood cancer nationwide. It brings us comfort knowing that Ethan is bringing a smile to the faces of so many children.

Through our foundation and in the memory of our son Ethan, we will continue to spread awareness. Childhoodcancer is the leading cause of death for children under the age of 15. On average 36 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every day (46 children every school day). Despite these facts the scientific research for childhood cancer is significantly underfunded when compared to adult cancer research. We know that the key to change starts with awareness and advocacy for change for which we will continue to do through this website and our fundraising efforts.

Ethan had a huge smile and the ability to make friends with everyone, no matter what age. He brought people together and made a difference in their lives. He continues to do so through his foundation. We will encourage and empower everyone to get involved and make a difference in childhood cancer.
