Since its founding in 1923, the Evansville Association for the blind has had one goal; to render assistance in the promotion, development, improvement and delivery of services to individuals with severe handicaps, including firstly, persons with visual handicaps and secondly persons with other physical, mental, emotional and social handicaps. We acheive this goal daily through the following services:

Career Development Center-helps individuals develop general work skills and habits that are necessary and compatible to the skills found in the clerical field. The Career Development Center is interested in seeing every student leave our programs prepared to seek employment.

Job Placement Program-The Job Placement Program’s main mission is to assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining successful employment in the community through advocacy, job training, and follow-up services that ensure the employee’s goals and needs are met.

Low Vision Support-This program offers a variety of services to those with visual impairments, such as; Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Diabetic Retinopathy.   These services include; low vision evaluations, a support group, low vision activities, home visits, and educational speakers,

Orientation and Mobility-Orientation and Mobility (O&M) training teaches people who are visually impaired how to travel safely and efficiently in both familiar and unfamiliar areas. Each O&M program is designed according to each individual’s needs.
