EverWonder Children's Museum, a 501(c)3 organization, was founded in January 2011 by a group of mothers who enjoyed bringing their children to other children's museums and who wanted to create a similar experience closer to home for everyone in the surrounding communities to enjoy. For the first years of its life, EverWonder Children's Museum existed as a mobile entity without a physical location.  The Board of Directors and volunteers brought science and art programming to the community through the local library and various community events in an effort to fulfill their mission and create awareness of the organization.  In April 2013, EverWonder Children's Museum opened a physical location called The EverWonder Experience. This small museum space was packed with exciting hands-on exhibits and activities.  The EverWonder Experience served over 6,000 visitors.  In April of 2015, EverWonder Children's Museum re-opened in our current location.  This new larger space enables us to provide additional exhibits and activities as well as dedicated space for birthday parties and field trips.

What We Do

Your child's experiences are important to us and we want them all to be good ones! That's why our museum provides families in Newtown and surrounding communities a place to explore science, technology, engineering and math concepts (S.T.E.M.) through hands-on exhibits and creative, arts-based activities.

EverWonder Children’s Museum believes that if you give a child a passion for learning, you’ve given him or her the world. Our exhibits and interactive classrooms not only inspire in children a love of learning in the S.T.E.M. fields, but our approach also provides experiences that foster a love and passion for the arts.

And that’s just the beginning. When you bring your child, grandchild, nephew or niece to our musuem, they'll be sure to have fun. But they'll be developing essential skills in problem solving, critical thinking, communication, social cooperation, and innovative thinking.

Our Mission

We strive to be a place where your child leaves feeling enlightened, inspired, and empowered. Our mission is to cultivate a lifelong love-of-learning in children by encouraging them to think, inquire, and wonder about the world around them.

Why We Need Your Help

We're growing! We serve families in northern Fairfield County, Greater Danbury and Waterbury, and Litchfield County. Since opening in 2013, in Newtown, CT, EverWonder Children’s Museum has drawn over 6,000 visitors from 67 nearby towns. That was in a 2,000 square-foot “mini museum.” Since moving into our larger location of 6,500 square feet to meet the growing demand, we now offer expanded exhibit space, generous classroom space, a designated Toddler’s area, and other activity spaces.  We want to increase our program offerings to include technology as well as expand the age range range that our programs reach.
