Myra Byarm went in and out of prison 6 times as she fought off a drug addiction.  In 2005, she was our first scholarship recipient in the Red Sea Crossings Mentoring and Scholarship Program, our banner program.   She used her scholarship to pay for school expenses related to a degree in business.  She graduated from UNCC and went on to complete a Master's Degree. Today, she has over 12 years drug free, 15 years employed, and 6 years on the governing board of Exodus Foundation.org

Since 2008, ninety percent of our mentees have remained out of jail or prison.  The Red Sea Crossings Mentoring Program is a 24hr re-entry mentoring program specializing in culturallyl competent mentoring for formerly incarcerated persons. Working across racial and denominational lines we are a parachurch organization mobilizing communities of faith to respond to the degrading system of mass incarceration that has ruptured the lives of American citizens and immigrants.   In 2016, we were awarded the "Paths Out of Poverty" Award by Pride Magazine.   Each month we hold career networking groups and group mentoring for those who do not have individual matches.

In 2014, we launched the Restoration, Redemption and ReEntry  Conference for formerly incarcerated persons and their loved ones.  It is a weekend filled with intensive mentoring for returning citizens.

Today, we have added national advocacy to stop the flow of all Americans to prison by sharing our insights on thepossiblities of a restorative justice system with the nations leaders. See our Time's Up-Let Me Go! Fundraiser.
