Family to Family Connection Isd 13

At Family to Family Connection, we believe that providing all parents with the education and emotional support they need will lead to an empowered parent and a stronger family.  For the past 13 years, Family to Family has been educating parents about what it takes to build a healthy family.  We offer classes on infant development, toddler motor skill development, family nutrition, communication with children, breast feeding and much more. Many of our classes are taught in both English and Spanish.  Additionally, some of our classes are specifically designed for fathers.

Recent budget cuts at the state level eliminated all of our state funding, which accounted for 60% of our annual budget.  That is why we are asking for your help – we are looking to the community to fill the gap through private support.  You know that an educated population is essential for Nevada to flourish.  Family to Family Connection is strengthening the foundation of that goal by building healthy families and empowering parents to help their children succeed.

We at Family to Family have recently added a new series of classes to ensure Las Vegas’s children are ready for kindergarten.  We added this focus because studies have shown that education doesn’t begin in kindergarten, or even preschool, it begins at birth.  Babies and toddlers need early learning experiences to foster their intellectual, social and emotional development and lay the foundation for later school success. Many children are not ready to enter kindergarten – emotionally, socially, physically or academically. Many of these children start their education behind the learning curve and never catch up. 

Our “Getting Ready for Kindergarten” classes aren’t only for children.  We’re also providing parents the resources and knowledge they need to help their kids succeed. Most importantly, we’re making sure these families understand the value of parental involvement in their child’s education.  But we need your help.
